Thanks for stopping by! I'm the author of 30 books, all published through Amazon KDP. My work primarily deals with the history of the petroleum industry, mainly its relationships with other industries (agriculture, ranching, uranium, railroads) and its dealings with government entities.
Oil's footprint is everywhere around us. Without oil, we don't have fertilizers, paints, plastics, asphalt, motor oils, and, of course, gasoline. We don't have those 24-hour truck stops on the side of the highway (those trucks don't run on water, after all). And we don't have those cross-country plane trips without oil.
America doesn't have its status as a global energy juggernaut without oil.
Oil production, at its most successful and profitable, occurs when government does not get in the way. Government policies are most beneficial when they don't have the red tape that is common in other countries where the government owns the oil industry (think Venezuela and Mexico). What was that Ronald Reagan quote? "Government is not the solution to our problem, government is the problem."
Some of my books are available at a few retail outlets, and a few will be listed on the Contact page. All of them are available for purchase through Amazon. If your local bookseller or library doesn't have any of these books that you might like, request it! (Sugject to budgetary and other limitations. Ask for more details.) If you're interested in buying books for a store or library, ask about my museum discount!
I'll always try to give you a fair deal. I'll always try to give you the best quality. I'll always try to act with honesty and integrity. I'll always try to be prompt in filling your orders, giving you the latest updates on shipping times. (I'll even sign the books for you if you order through the museum discount, which is not available through purchases directly through Amazon.com.) And I'll never sell your personal information.
(So, please do not send any sensitive information, such as bank account numbers or credit card numbers, through e-mail or through any other unsecured means of communication.)
I also write a column for the Albuquerque Journal. These are bite-sized introductions to some of the books I've put out, usually focusing on a single topic and sometimes taking their leads from current events.
I've also been featured on the American Oil and Gas Historical Society's website. I've also been an occasional guest on radio programs such as Pratt on Texas.
Thanks for your support, and know this: You are the home-field advantage in terms of making these books successful!
